Visionary and leader of Emmaus Missionary Baptist Church, Reverend Dr. Willie David McClung, II (Pastor d) heard a voice from Heaven saying, “What have you rendered, my son?” and in 1978, he accepted his call into the ministry and preached his first sermon under the ministrial guidance and direction of his earthly father, the Reverend Dr. W.D. McClung. Paul’s words to Timothy to “Study to shew thyself approved…” have been the cornerstone to Dr. McClung, II’s work in God’s vineyard as he progressed in his ministerial assignments.

In 2003, Pastor McClung, II organized Emmaus Missionary Baptist Church along with four other devoted Christians and the church was incorporated as a religious body under the laws of the State of Maryland in Baltimore County. In August 2003, the church held its first public worship service at Deer Park Elementary School in the 9800 block of Lyons Mill Road. He is charged to lead the church in all of its activities, preaching the gospel, administering the ordinances, have charge of the stated services of public worship, and direct the spiritual welfare of the church. Also, he is the executive Director of the EMBC Development Corporation and Chairman of the Board of the Emmaus Education Corporation; both nonprofit organizations that produce educational seminars and provide community based outreach services. He also serves as CEO of WDM2 Ministries, and Secretary/Treasurer of the National Baptist Convention USA Development Corporation.
In addition, Dr. McClung, II, has over 23 years of experience with the Social Security Administration. Currently, he works for the Deputy Commissioner for Legislation and Congressional Affairs where he formulates, identifies, reviews, and analyzes legislative proposals for their impact on Social Security programs, policies, and procedures as part of the legislative planning process. This also includes analysis an understanding of political and societal impact of these proposals. In addition, he also provides technical and advisory services to other agencies within the Executive Branch, Congressional committees, and individual Members of Congress, and private organizations. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Dr. McClung, II, completed his BA degree at Miles College, MBA at Samford University, MTS degree and Doctor of Ministry degree at Liberty University. Pastor McClung, II is married to Maria Antoinette Larkin of Bessemer, AL, and they are the parents of five children, and they have eight grandchildren.
